    I left my PSU at work. I have one here that outputs: 9v DC @ 1000ma. Is this OK?

    as long as it's tip positive & 2.1mm barrel it should be fine if you're running it self-contained. USB devices tend to draw a lot of power though so i'd avoid that without the 2A supply.

    as always though, be careful! make sure the power supply doesn't overheat.
