New EP Temporal Recurrence - WITH ADDED RADIO PLAY.

  • "Sometimes I'm afraid that you'll tell me that this is not a work of fiction. I can only hope that the answers will come to me in my sleep."

I just released an EP I finished a couple of hours ago. Because I can. It's called Temporal Recurrence. The talented Ben Evans did some keys and synths on the last track, and hopefully he'll join me when I play it live. Some of the drums on the first track are from a fun evening I spent at Andy Hunter's studio, and the cover is by my beauty Rachael Smith. Anyway, I hope you like it. Merry Christmas you filthy animals.

  • Very nice!
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing!

  • thanks for the link

    untouchable is fantastic

  • THIS IS AWESOME.

  • Thanks for the kind comments, guys. It's been a hard journey this time with a laptop totally dying on me twice during the creative process and a lot of personal issues to work through.

Sum and Meadow were essential tools creating this, as well as my MPCs and the inspiration that other artists like you guys give me.

    Thanks!

  • Love the music, really well done. Was just reading your blog (which I enjoyed) - sorry to derail your promo thread, but have you ever thought about trying to get into soundtrack composition for film/games or even radio?

  • Thanks Si,

I'd love to get into the soundtrack business and have friends who are filmmakers, which just makes it doubly annoying that I don't seem to be able to get any work in this area.

  • wonderful stuff.
    thanks for sharing!

  • nice man!!

  • You may be passed this stage in your career/life/interests but if you were looking for some free/low-paid projects to get started with I think someone with a discog like yours might have a good choice of projects if you put a few calls out to game devs and filmmakers on Twitter. Probably a load of timewasters as well but something good might come of it.

  • Thanks Si, and I didn't mean to come across bitchy at all before. I've had all kinds of help from loads of places, used pro studios for free, had professional musicians play on my music for beers, artists give me their work for use as covers. I've been really blessed. But I've also had a lot of admittedly very busy filmmakers ask about my music and nothing has ever come of it. Ah well, maybe soon. I've also considered uploading to a site like audio jungle, but the good websites like that always want exclusive content and the shit ones are... well, full of shit. Maybe something to experiment with in the future.

  • Gorgeous album, thank you

  • Haha, you didn't sound bitchy! Sounds like you've got the skills and experience to pull it off so I hope you find an opportunity to do a soundtrack or similar, I get the feeling you could come up with something really great. Am looking forward to hearing what you come up with next!

  • bravo. purchased.

  • So I recently sent a collaborator the stems to Anubis off of the new EP to remix. Let me know if you want them too! https://simeonsmith.bandcamp.com/track/anubis

  • I'd love to have a play if you're still open to it? Can't promise too much over the Christmas period but should have some time in the new year to experiment!

  • Tonight a track that Ben and I made the other week will be played on BBC Radio Wales, on the new music show sometime after 10pm GMT. You can listen online here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radiowales/on-air or you can tune in on an actual real digital radio or on FM (it’s 93.9 in Swansea). This is kind of a big deal for me. If you like what you hear you can tweet @welshmusic to let the show know! Please share with your friends if you think they’d be interested.
