128 grid kit + white whale = amazing

  • I read the build doc, took my time with a decent soldering iron and finished the grid kit in a couple of hours. A few tips: (1) have plenty of light or build in the morning on a sunny day so you can see the diode orientation, as the LEDs are much easier to place with tweezers (2) the LED boot sequence is only the upper corner of the grid, if you are following the build doc this may lead someone new to the grid to thinking something is wrong... (3) soldering 4 LEDs at a time in a row after the top pad has been tinned makes for a much faster build. I built the kit to get my hands on the white whale which has now replaced my makenoise rene and is seriously amazing! I would love the earth sea as well, but the is no way to synchronize the cclock to the white whale, so I will wait...
