monome buttons as knobs and faders?

  • Hello - I am a new member to the community (can I even be considered a member without actually owning a monome?) and I just had a question that would really help me out.
I really like the monome applications that are out there but I am more interested in the monome as a customizable midi controller for my setup in Digital Performer. I was just wondering if there was anyway, perhaps through some type of midi translator to mimic knobs or fader movement? Basically it would be great if I could assign the same cc# to two buttons and have them nudge it up or down with a single press and sweep if I hold it down. Or if I could span a range over an entire row or so and jump to it depending on which button I press. I don't know if this is even possible.
    Thanks for your help.

oh, another thing is that I make basic sample based hip hop, can anyone point me in the right direction for a monome application that is best for this? maybe the npr is the best bet.

is a basic idea of cc faders. particular functionality can be programmed but require additional expertise in a programming environment such as maxmsp, pd, java, processing, etc.

of course if you're not interested in programming you can browse the list of user-contributed apps:
