    check me out again homies!
    sting!!!!!

  • STING STING!

  • a side thought,

    what program do you use to put your videos together?

  • Very cool.

    You planning on doing all 7 using the same 63 noises?

    BTW: What's the mixer in the background?

  • That's rad. I like the rawness of it. Makes it more into a traditional instrument than a control surface while maintaining the broad range of sound by using samples instead of a synth or single sampled instrument.

    Me like.

  • @bastiaan
    thanks!

    @cyst......
    i use imovie, then final cut....
    ive been using my work computer......
    so it has allllll that shit on it...!

    @JP.....
    negatory.....
    each song will have its own 63 noises....
    (the far bottom right button is a stop all clips button....)
    (in case it gets too crazy)
    the mixer is an alesis something something.....
    8 channel, built in fx.....
    its old and shitty.....
    and channel 1 is hecka shorted out....
    but thats how i roll!!
    ha!

    peace doods

  • gulp. this is outstanding. you're taking the grid to new heights. i've got to practice (it's not like daedelus and i are the only two people with grids anymore, ha)

    much respect.

  • Absolutely amazing. I thought that this would sound pretty weak and thin but i was oh so wrong.
    Edison, you never dissapoint.

  • jesus christ edison. you put most, if not all of us, to shame. lol.

    amazing, as always. now, out of curiosity, is there anyway to do this without the use of ableton? something like an app written in max for different sounds for every button?

  • > something like an app written in max for different sounds for every button?

    BLITZ!

  • yah man! This is amazing. Videos like this are what convinced me I needed to build this thing in the first place. Huge props Edison!

  • @edison

    i imagine it must be very tiresome to find 63 different sounds for 7 songs, 63 per song. i was just wondering if all of them are made by you or most or what? if not, then where do you get those wonderful sounds?

  • edison keepin it gangsta as usual

  • damn bro...I don't get internet that much anymore, but everytime I do you seem to have some new ridiculous shit going on. And you make it all look so easy~! The sign of a true professional.

    And according to my calculations, you should be starting your world tour a few months from now...

  • damnit edison...

    quit making me want to chop my fingers off...

  • damn... amazing. kind of gives me an mpc-type vibe, like how peeps who perform live beats on mpc but with waaaaay more sounds. and glitchier.
    what program are you using to control ableton, and how are the samples set up in live itself? just a drum rack?

  • well, i'm out. anyone wanna buy some monomes?

    seriously, it would take me forever to even get the 63 sounds chosen and set up. let alone construct and perform something good with them.

    phenomenal job, man.

  • heyhey....

    @genko.....
    so....it takes me about 3-4 hours to locate 63 sounds.....
    i have a reeeeediculous library built up at this point.....
    so like 3/4 of these sounds are from personal recording sessions.....the rest is just filler......random things i have laying around......
    the point of this project...is kinda house cleaning......
    get everything out i wouldnt normally use and just throw it out there.....

    @jacobian......
    thanks!
    man.... im workin on that europe shit.....
    still never been out of the country!!!!!
    thanks for the props........
    im jonesing for a noise session hoss!

    @sursiks......
    definitely an MPC thang....
    this is how i was doing things when i discovered the monome.....
    with a SP606......and a padkontrol......
    the monome set up this way, gives you enough options to work with....
    enough sounds and small enough buttons to easily access them at once....
    as far as the ableton set up......
    i just drop a sample into a slot.....
    i take it off warp and adjust the markers to play what i want.......
    and then MIDI map that shit to a button....
    i usually get the drums set up....play around.....and then branch out from there......until i fill all 63

    @jmel......
    dood!!
    when are we gonna get some more live looping vids!?????
    mad respect to you hoss!!!!

  • Awesome! That setup is such a simple concept but what an amazingly great idea! You are an inspiration. Keep it up. Can't wait to see how each song is different.

    You Rock!

  • Wow! Amazing stuff. Really inspiring...

    I gotta dust off my video cam and find the time to make some new vids! Edison, wanna babysit a couple of kids for a week or so?

  • amazing! looking forward to the next in the series.
