I can't help thinking implementing this would make for a great M4L app. Perhaps add a few rules that aren't mentioned in the video - extra notes, rests, descend as well as ascend, different looping times. Could potentially be a fantastical random generator. Has anyone implemented anything like this before. I wish I had the time to dig more into Max to figure out how to do this kind of thing...
