@raja -- I suspect venture capitalists can sound as illiterate as one could imagine, or more. As for the venture capital, I don't think the objection is to the 435K, small potatoes, but to the fact that there is venture capital, that it's not acknowledged, and that it implies certain things about the future of the enterprise.
Now for the unpopular part: the reason I decided not to ask for an invitation is less because of Aral's objections and more because I'm not interested in social media generally. I'm acutely aware of being excluded/excluding myself from more and more of normal society (and friends) due to not participating in FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc. I would like to think it's possible to be a real person without doing that stuff. I might be wrong.
Finally -- @raja, I fucking love you, man. Also, the rest of you. I've learned a very great deal here, and a huge amount of what I think and care about came from this forum.

@RajaTheResidentPoser Thanks for the invite. I can't really figure out how to do much on this thing yet but I haven't spent very much time either. When video and soundcloud/audio embeds work I imagine I'll use it more.
