@nivemusic
nice one !!! -
@nivenmusic thats really nice, whats doing what? Live vocals into mlr?
-
@pekopeko thanks man! Live vocals are recorded into MLR for some basic cutting up. Running pages with presscafe and a clip launcher too. The launchpad is basically a clip launcher with various clips set up in a sequence so i can re order them. The MPD is used to trigger the main clips that create the track as well as various effects in ableton.

Full disclosure, this particular track doesn't use any monome gear - but it's my first song as a solo artist that I've felt comfortable enough about to post. Feedback greatly encouraged.
Live vibraphone improvisations by myself, kind of took on a life of its own after I made some drum samples out of part of the second take.

@jhindsight nice somber piano jam, good for my mellow Saturday evening
@rawray7 your nomadic rig is really rad, so is your groove
@clint_dodsson nice improv!, the vibraphone melds perfectly with those clicky drums -
alone and inspired tonight, some processed guitar (at 2:35) to share

bumped into a pleasantly surprising Tedx talk
-
@pekopeko
Thanks for the heads up on pxt. I'll have to check it out. Nice compilation - downloaded!
I got the Native Instruments Komplete bridge which is nice.
I miss the integration with all plugins that Maschine provided. -
This is a tiny bit of a stretch because it's not me performing in it, and there isn't monome stuff in this particular vid, BUT it its my wife/partner filming/editing (which does all my videos) AND the piece that's being performed often uses The Party Van live.
And you can read more about the process involved here (which is EPIC):

Thanks! She's been working on it forever (like 6 months or so), so it's really satisfying finally seeing it being 'out'.
That's really cool to know. Didn't know the history of the vid. It's a funny thing that, I had seen, a while back, all the "datamosh is dead" stuff, which is funny to see.
Tools are tools, and although these are "old" techniques now, technologically speaking, that has no bearing on the 'art' that can be made with it. For god's sake people still make paintings, and drawings, if one can believe that?! hehe (obviously playing devil's advocate here).
I'll have a look at the optical flow stuff. We were looking at the Vizzie stuff the other day (in Max7) which makes jitter stuff much friendlier. I can see Max being real useful to work into an overall workflow, doing unique things to the vids, but don't know how performative we would get with jitter. -
the word epic is far too often misused
however...
that WAS epic -
There's a really good book (Cracked Media - Caleb Kelly) that gets into this kind of thing, but from a music/sound perspective. A bit academic-y, particularly towards the start, but it gets better latter on.
Well worth the read if one is interested in this kind of thing (glitch and general misappropriation of technology). -
I have a track on this which dropped today; https://unlog1.bandcamp.com/album/va-unlog-complex-05
features a whole bunch of great producers and its free -

Testing version 1 of the BinaryArc sketch for the n2s::b module. The ::b is controlled by the arc, encoders control divisors / CV level with 5 quantized CV outs for pitch (4 for each ring plus a combined one) and 5 full range CVs for modulation, plus gates for when the current position is in the active zone and triggers for when a zone border is crossed. There is also CV control over transpose / phase / divisor which is what you see happening in the 2nd half. Pitch goes out to 3 voices, 2 from Shapeshifter and one from Braids.

Ambient piece with fun FM programming and a few of samples taken from mess-arounds with monome_sum. You all should really check out the VOPM plugin. Free FM synth based on the yamaha chip from the sega genesis/megadrive consoles. -
