  • waiting for DSP init...
"there was some perhaps unwise reshuffling of default .ldr names in the 0.6 update. try making a copy of aleph-waves.ldr and renaming it to just 'waves.ldr'" I tried this and it made all the parameters vanish, but maybe I did it…

  • Moving to Vancouver, good music shops?
No Moog Audio in Vancouver unfortunately. No dedicated modular or synth shops there at all as far as I know. I think Tom Lee downtown sells some stuff like Pittsburgh Modular, but it's mostly for more common studio gear. Of course you can alwa…

  • aleph as cv clock - timing issues
the only bad situation is that I can't use the aleph to generate rhythm, especially 4/4, without some extra unpredictable beats sneaking in. so it cant be a master timing device unless I clock it from outside. that seems stable basically I&#…

    Thanks! Any luck yet?

  • aleph as cv clock - timing issues
Just lines. But I will double check waves as well. In a perfect world I would want to generate cv and use the aleph as a delay, so getting it solid in lines is more important

  • aleph as cv clock - timing issues
hmm... ideally I would want it within the network to be able to clock internal parameters and other bees things as well. essentially I'm building sequencer like scenes that send cv and gate out an easier workaround is just to clock the aleph …

  • aleph as cv clock - timing issues
man, @Test2 I am not good enough at this to do any of that :)

  • aleph as cv clock - timing issues
I just wanted to update update this thread: I still have not been able to get a consistent METRO pulse out of the aleph using the following METRO -> TOG -> MUL -> CVout issues with noise at cv inputs have been sufficiently resolved, but e…

  • waiting for DSP init...
@tehn guaranteed for the last week or so (but haven't been doing programming for a while, so maybe longer) no problems loading default scene or other scenes or anything else

  • possibility of aleph as sample playback machine
@gli it can't, no. but op was imaging playing pre-loaded short drum hits, so it works for that scenario

  • possibility of aleph as sample playback machine
just get a Volca Sample, I say: sync it to the aleph via cv, run lines as your granular delay and you mostly have what op describes

  • 16 second delay scene BETA
I'm pretty happy w/ it as is for live stuff, but clearing the buffer would be super handy when recording. i used to do that all the time w/ my el capistan in loop mode: you can just double tap to wipe the buffer if the loop isn't syncing u…

@beo: interesting. I ended up reinstalling everything as well.... it definitely seemed to help... will need to pay attention to the metros

  • 16 second delay scene BETA
I don't think there's an easy way to clear the buffer. Just turn the feedback down and wait... I think I asked about buffer clearing once and it would have to be added to lines code (maybe?)... unless there's a way idk about

I need to revisit this, too... spruce things up good thing I posted here or it would have been lost to the great sd card crushing of 2014

well just had a session using lines w/ lots of feedback and delay changes and was very happy w/ the sound results. gain staging is really key: especially balancing the internal filter levels, wet and dry levels, delay to dac levels, AND the physical…

noticing the same clicking with waves and the this scene. especially when changing the wm10 parameter, but also linked to the metro period it's kind of like vinyl crackle

  • bleed / audible clicks
here are some sound examples: https://soundcloud.com/analogue01/sets/aleph-clicka-and-bleed/s-RTsrf clicks are iPod into space, nothing else for the bleed: the audio is recorded from output 1, output gain pot at 0, sweeping the input gain

  • bleed / audible clicks
you know what... there's definitely sill an audio bleed problem that is also contributing. i can have the headphones at 0 and the input very low, play some mellow drones from my ipod into the aleph and hear a crackly ghost version through in my…

  • bleed / audible clicks
right, so after extensive testing. the problem has nothing to do with cv, but is linked to changes in delay values. even w/ say just an encoder mapped to delayN there will be a tiny click for each step of the encoder. the problem is especially noti…

the clicks. which i think may just be dsp related and not cv related since I can hear them w/ space now and I'm not using cv. re audio bleed: I have best results turning the headphone gain to max and having the audio input gains set very low. …

that makes sense. thank you. i'll run some tests and report back

  • bleed / audible clicks
further testing: I'm wrong about the cv bleed. I can reproduce the problem with an internal metro. seems to happen intermittently when the delay value is randomly changed, and it gets worse if I increase the fade parameters (what do those do?)

  • Idea for a scene
I haven't worked w/ the grid op (no grid yet), but, yeah that should be simple enough. have you read the cv tutorial section on quantizing? that's where I would start.
