  • Monomeserial 2.15 error in win xp
having the same issue here, trying to install 0.3.0.0 on win XP I have been idle on the monome front for a long time so my mentals aren't in shape.. my old version 0.2.0.7 still works OK installed another (current?) version 0.2.1.3a,…

  • ableton live 5.2.2 vs live 7
the jump from 5 to 7 is pretty dramatic. I say go for 7 5 has no racks whatsoever. 7 has instrument, fx and drum racks there are also quite a few significant improvements to the native FX in v.7 lots of other additions, but #1 is prob…

  • Monome's ADC noise cancelling
talking a bit out my ass here but when I experimented with the ports a bit, a resistor on the lines cleaned the signal a lot, but resulted in a narrower range of values - another trade-off I guess

  • 4x4 (x4?) builders thread
damn, that's cool as hell I plan just a panel - rackmount form - with 2x 40h and 2x 10h might use the ports for encoders but I was a bit discouraged by my first experiments at hooking them up -pots and encoders I'm trying to avo…

  • 4x4, 4x8 cable assemblies

  • 4x4, 4x8 cable assemblies
what I mean is: the 16-wire ribbon is being clamped into the 2x8 terminal on the 40h setup, right? so isn't there a way to separate and re-arrange 8 wires such that they can be clamped into a 2x8 terminal in the proper way to interface wi…

  • 4x4, 4x8 cable assemblies
not off the bat seeing why an 8-wide ribbon can't be torn in half and stacked upon itself? (or otherwise torn and pushed into the terminals in some other arrangement?) will this become self-evident when I actually bust out my 4x4 kits and ge…

  • 4x4, 4x8 cable assemblies
I beleive you'd call them "1 x 8 pin headers" the ones on the 40h kit have one side of the header's pins bent @ 90deg so that the cable plugs sit horizontal against the pcb I suspect that you would not just bring 1 x 8 ribb…

  • I think my 40kit has a missing part :(
look underneath the couch cushions I remember being impressed that monome had included a couple of extra diodes.. plenty of those little fuckers ended up on the floor, and chances of losing one were pretty high.

  • Monome on ebay
if monome offered 5 units per 100 on ebay (released at intervals), it would probably keep the 2nd hand market under control, and keep the $ at the home base. then the $ can be considered profit or channeled into the business however they see fit

  • Monome on ebay
to me it just looks like a simple supply/demand issue. there need to be more monomes, so that the price is stable across the market they should sell for somewhat less second-hand, which is only possible if buyers always have the option of buyi…

  • 40h faceplate DXF/DWG/whatever

  • Bolts for the kit?
the thing to do in that case is to choose a screw 1st then look up the drill size for that tap and have the plate drilled to that diameter. careful with those tiny taps. breaking a tap in a hole SUCKS ;)

  • Bolts for the kit?
a #4 is .112 in diameter = 2.84 mm the close fit clear hole is .116 = 2.95 mm (check the specs of the pcb holes.) probably, very tightly. but just drill out the pcb a bit are you having the faceplate tapped, or just with through holes?

  • 40h-0093 gets accelerated!
as I recall you can get more calibration options by using max and _40h_midi instead of monomeserial also I don't know if it's the same for the accel. as with pots - but putting a resistor on the pots helped to clean up the signal.
