  • any thoughts on starting a new MCRP
MCRP v16: "sum total" ^ that's my name proposal if we go with incorporating monome_sum into our songs. as mentioned earlier, though, it's more of an individual showcase centered around one app, rather than a collaborative remix…

  • any thoughts on starting a new MCRP
@kineticmonkey: we did that back in 2011 for mcrp v10. i think that was my first mcrp. i like @artfwo's water/autumn ideas. very inspiring, and would be easier than obtaining busker recordings--and clearing said recordings for reuse.

  • Binding keys for mlr 2.8
i haven't run into anything on midi-mapping or binding keys from within mlr, but as a stopgap measure: you should be able to ReWire mlr's audio output into your DAW. from within mlr, select options -> dsp -> driver -> ad_rewire. s…

  • Roland SP-404SX + Monome= ?
@gli i've been interested in aleph for awhile. so far, the small pool of owners/developers have gravitated toward synthesis, CV, and effects applications. the blackfin chip is very well suited for those types of tasks, so it's natural to s…

  • Roland SP-404SX + Monome= ?
i would love to see a sampling/midi-focused version of the aleph, compared to the current synthesis/effects/cv version. i have an mpc1000, and it's good for certain tasks, but i would like to see a more flexible grid+standalone device pairing …

problem: stereo files only play in mono. this is the same problem that folks have reported as far back as 3-4 years ago, with older mlrv versions. i'm hitting it in the latest 2.4 (2.3004), with max runtime 5.1.9, on OSX 10.8.5. i've ver…

thanks, guys! @raja, appreciated. not much can be done; hearing aids only work until my nerves degenerate past a certain point. and in my research, i found out that no one's really making any HAs with mics or DSPs tuned to music freqs & fi…

rove could possibly run with a bit of porting, since is written in C already. however, like every other mlr-like app it's designed to load samples into RAM at startup, so it would need refactoring to read from the sd card much more often.

@Yorke: yup, so it seems -- and that was a concern i raised in an earlier comment. the last thing i usually want to do is learn to program in a low-level language. i'd rather just make music. but if there aren't any apps that do what i wa…

@Yorke: max/msp runs only on x86 and ppc processors inside windows and mac -- the aleph has neither chip, and doesn't run either OS. so unless someone comes up with a ridiculously lightweight and complete emulation environment to run on the bl…

    1. i take it the aleph supports class-compliant udb-midi devices, such as an mpd? i can imagine using this thing hooked up to a monome, mpd18, and nanokontrol. 2. can those patch points on the top of the device be looped back into each other? sim…

  • FTDI Driver Bug: How can we put pressure on them to fix this?
