  • International Arduino Day! (sale on grid kits)
Due - SAM3X8E ARM Cortex-M3 Teensy - MK20DX256 32 bit ARM Cortex-M4 Teensy is actually more powerful but figured it should have the same essential functionality. It's quite a bit less expensive and brings all pins out for access. Teensy also…

  • International Arduino Day! (sale on grid kits)
Not complaining, unless it's because it makes me want to buy a second :) Actually still wondering about the teensy being a suitable alternative to Due, it seems to have many similar functions and can act as a USB midi or other host (I believe)…

  • Is anyone using Maxuino ?
Not necessarily the case but you may need to clear out unused but assigned com ports. Adafruit I believe had a quick tutorial on it.

Good solid advice Rodrigo. I too have a spare x360 controller I could use. My only Max patch I've taken from concept to finished patch, and was happy to see anyone else using was designed to turn a Logitech 3D joystick into an easily customiz…

Rodrigo, If I wanted to learn more about Max, how to create complex and effective patches by looking into Party Van, what would be a good place to start (or how to limit myself so as to not get too overwhelmed and run screaming right away)? You…

  • attach your grid to an arduino.
Wondering if this would work with a Teensy 3.0 instead of a Due?

  • FS Aleph, France
Yes, it is a 128 kit. Very cool but probably not what you are looking for. It's available to trade towards this but not really anything else. The Aleph just peaks my curiousity so very much.

Would also love one, despite the complexity, but yeah, the cost... I just bought a new grid kit, I'd consider selling it, though likely not what you want even though it is varibright. Would love an aleph though.

  • Why we should design things to be difficult to use
This conversation reminds me of a lesson that Futureman and Victor Wooten taught at his Bass Nature Camp. They talked about private music lessons and the first thing Futureman does when he gets a guitar or other student. They don't mess with …

  • Will trade my brand new boxed NI Maschine for Monome 128 - Chicago
I have a cherrywood mk128 kit in a handmade box. Blue leds. Would like a Maschine actually. It's not varibright, but works great. No news about Aleph for now except for that there is an interest list.

  • attach your grid to an arduino.
I was hoping to find a Due at Radio Shack as mine had a couple explora and a BBB (didn't buy the BBB kit at 50% off, but I probably should have.

This is really nice, a wonderful blend of sounds, feels, really sharp. Of course I always wonder what patches people are using.

  • Learning Max resources
Already been said but the tutorials and help files in Max are incredibly useful. Additionally, that book as well as the Max4Live book out there are both well-reveiwed books. It really depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. I hav…

As an educator I can get an upgrade cheaper than a sub for a year. If you were new I could see the subscription thing. It might have been the route I'd have taken a couple years ago when I purchased (especially if I knew I would't use it…

@raja, I think I was able to compile from that other thread, but it's been a bit. Do I need Max7 for this? I haven't upgraded yet as I haven't used Max much lately. However, those stretta vids are making me rethink. After all I b…
